No matter whether it's sweet or savoury a perfectly soft, fluffy, and delicious freshly-baked muffin can surely turn one’s day around. Freshly-baked muffins are healthier, tastier, and pocket-friendly as well. However, baking muffins at home can be a messy and tedious task. From wrong texture to sticking in the bottom of the tray, muffin struggles are real. So, here are some mistakes that you need to avoid the next time you plan to make muffins at home. We swear by these tips to help you enjoy a muffin treat.

Do not overmix the batter

A perfectly baked muffin should be light, airy, and fluffy. Mixing the batter has a big impact on the texture of muffins. Overmixing the batter will crush the air bubbles in the batter and will result in a flat muffin.

Solution: Incorporate the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until the ingredients are barely combined.

Do not fill the tray to the brim

Making a mess is one of the biggest fears of most people while baking a batch of muffins. Filling the trays to the brim will lead to the batter seeping across the pan and spilling into the oven.

Solution: Fill the moulds or trays to three-quarters of the way full.

Line or grease the tray generously

Muffins sticking at the bottom is one of the most common struggles while baking a batch of muffins. Not greasing the tray or the muffin cups enough leads to sticking of the batter at the bottom of the pan.

Solution: You can line the tray with parchment paper or grease it with butter before pouring the batter to prevent the muffins from sticking.

Do not leave the muffins in the tray to cool

Leaving the muffins in the hot tin to cool down will lead to the cooking of the muffins and drying out in the later phase.

Solution: Leave the muffins in the tray for a minute or so before transferring them to a cooling rack.
