Popular winter fruit known as kinnow has an orange-like appearance and flavour. Just that Kinnows are bigger than oranges and taste comparably more sour. They provide a healthy serving of calcium and are rich in vitamin C. In the winter, people enjoy them most frequently as juice. Here are different methods to make Kinnow beverages so you may enjoy their tart and sweet flavour this season.
Warm Apple and Kinnow drink
In addition to keeping you warm during the winter, this comforting beverage packs a sweet and sour punch. One cinnamon stick, one cup each of apple juice, Kinnow juice, pineapple juice, two tablespoons of lemon juice, and four tablespoons each of honey are needed as ingredients.
Method:
Place the cinnamon stick and apple juice in a pan. It should be brought to a boil and then simmered until it has reduced to half. Remove from the heat when finished. Juices from pineapple, Kinnow, and lemon should be added. Blend in honey thoroughly. Simply drain the juice now and consume it.
Kinnow squash
Wintertime brings a plethora of kinnow, so why not make the most of it? The squash can be kept till summer by adding some preservatives.
Ingredients needed include 3 kilograms of Kinnow, 1 kg of sugar, 1 litre of water, 4 tablespoons of lemon juice, a half teaspoon of potassium metabisulphite (a preservative), and a dash of saffron.
Method:
Fill a pan with water and sugar. Maintain a medium flame and let it to boil. Add lemon juice once it has boiled, then simmer for a while until a little bit of thickening occurs. then extinguish the flame. The saffron threads will now be crushed and added to the sugar solution. Take all of the Kinnows' juice out, then filter it. Mix together this juice with the sugar syrup. Simply take 1/4 cup of Kinnow juice and stir in the preservative. Mix well. Simply stir it again, then put the produced mixture in sterilised bottles. After cooling the bottles, you're done. Simply combine 3 to 4 tablespoons of this squash with a glass of water before serving.
Classic Kinnow juice
With its zesty yet sweet flavour, Kinnow juice takes first position among winter drinks. Even though this recipe is the simplest, juice lovers enjoy it a lot in the winter. Four Kinnow, one-fourth teaspoon of black salt, one tablespoon of lemon juice, and a dash of black pepper powder are needed.
Method:
One cup of juice is produced by 4 kinnows. Take the juice out of the Kinnows first. Lemon juice, black salt, and pepper powder are now added. Mix thoroughly and enjoy.
Mix fruit juice
Other seasonal fruits that are available can be added to the Kinnow juice to give it a pleasant touch. In addition to enhancing the flavour of your beverage, carrots and beets will give it a stunning colour. Take the juice from two Kinnows, one carrot, and two slices of beetroot to produce this mixed fruit juice. Salt, lemon juice, and chaat masala are optional additions.
