Kiara Advani might be one of the fittest young actors to grace the Indian silverscreens, but she is also quite the foodie. From indulging in chocolate treats to Italian meals loaded with cheese, Kiara Advani often gives all of us food goals—and at the same time, she also proves through her posts on social media that she also eats healthy greens and smoothies to stay fit. In a recent post, however, Kiara Advani is making us crave that ultimate Punjabi food combo—Chole Kulche.

In a story shared on her Instagram, Kiara Advani presents us with a perfect plate of Amritsari Chole Kulche, and the dish truly has us drooling. The story shows a plate of herb, garlic and butter crusted Amritsari Kulcha. Alongside the flatbread from Amritsar are bowls of other delectable goodies, including one packed with creamy and spicy Chole.

The story also shows that Kiara Advani’s plate of Chole Kulche also has the perfectly healthy pairing of Boondi Raita and a serving of simple Jeera Aloo with a generous sprinkling of coriander leaves. The entire plate full of food looks very enticing indeed.

For those who don’t know, Chole Kulche is a lipsmacking combination of spicy chickpeas paired with a flaky flatbread. While Kulcha is a very popular flatbread eaten across North India, especially Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, Amritsari Kulchas are something special and entirely different. Regular Kulchas are round and have a bready texture, but those from the holy city of Amritsar are more crusty and flaky.

What’s more, Amritsari Kulchas generally have a generous amount of white butter used in the cooking process, which adds to the smokey flavour and crusty texture. Amritsari Kulchas are also often stuffed with potatoes and herbs, making it a go-to treat for those visiting the city. The Chole paired with these Kulchas, on the other hand, may be made with white chickpeas or black ones, depending on the chef and cook’s choice.

Kiara Advani, who is married to actor Siddharth Malhotra, may be a true-blue Mumbaikar, but her recent indulgence in Amritsari Chole Kulche proves that the actor has an adventurous palate and loves food from her husband’s region of origin. The actress recently celebrated her 31st birthday in Italy with Siddharth Malhotra, but her Chole Kulche adventure also shows that she’s back in the country indulging in the authentic flavours of the nation.
