AMA (Ask Me Anything) sessions tend to be the most entertaining and direct way to learn more about your favourite celebs and recently, Katrina Kaif took to Instagram to host one such session where she opened the floor to her fans and answered some of their most burning questions. While most of the session was centred around her new film release ‘Merry Christmas’ – a Sriram Raghavan mystery-thriller that was shot in both Hindi and Tamil – she also took some questions about food that were both entertaining and heartwarming.

Firstly, when asked what her favourite food was she jokingly answered ‘Khayaali Pulao’ meaning daydreaming or imaginary pulao, which is definitely a guilty pleasure for many people. Later in the session, she was asked what she liked about being a Punjabi’s daughter-in-law (in reference to her husband Vicky Kaushal’s family) and she enthusiastically answered: "Dher saara pyaar and ghar ka bana hua sarso da saag aur makki ki roti with white makhan" ("Lots of love and homemade sarson ka saag and makki roti with white butter

Sarson da saag is a seasonal dish made with mustard greens and served with a cornflour roti (and lots of white butter, as Katrina says!) which is especially popular during the chilly winters of Northern India. But it’s not the only ghar ka khana she seems to love from her mother-in-law's house because in 2022 she revealed that she would often get urged to eat king-sized aloo parathas, but would have to stop at one or two bites, owing to her diet. To fix this, her mother-in-law lovingly started making sweet potato parathas for her to eat without worry.

In previous AMAs she’s also revealed her love for dishes like turai ka sabzi, phool gobi and broccoli soup, proving that above all, she values comforting homestyle cooking.
