Cooking with garlic is a favourite of many people. There is no doubtthe flavorful punch those tiny cloves pack and how much nicer your soups, stir-fries, sauces, and pasta will taste whether they are eaten raw or cooked, sliced or crushed. You might not feel as minty fresh as you did at the beginning of the evening, though, after your third helping of garlic bread or spaghetti Aglio e olio. Even though it's comforting to know you'll be able to fend off any vampires, you'll probably still want to learn how to rapidly get rid of that garlic breath.

Fortunately, there are several effective natural cures for garlic breath, including fresh foods, herbal teas, and beverages rich in odor-suppressing enzymes. (Of course, you can always use traditional dental hygiene techniques if all else fails.) Here are a few tried-and-true methods to quickly eliminate garlic breath.

Fresh Fruits: Garlic breath can be reduced by crunching on apples, cucumbers, carrots, or lettuce because these foods are high in odor-reducing enzymes. It's accurate in certain ways if you've ever heard an apple called "nature's toothbrush"!

Fresh Herbs: A well-known palate cleanser and breath refresher is coriander. And mint, which has been discovered to specifically aid in preventing garlic breath, includes high concentrations of antioxidants known as polyphenols.

Acidic Drinks: A few sips of lemon juice or a cup of lemon juice and water will help neutralise the odor-causing enzymes in garlic. Don't like citrus? Polyphenols in green tea, which are odor-reducers, can also help freshen breath.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Some claim that consuming a spoonful of apple cider vinegar diluted in water before or after meals helps to eliminate the odour of onions or garlic. This approach, though, has not been approved by a doctor. A person should never use apple cider vinegar as a home cure without first consulting their doctor.

Milk: A glass of milk may lessen the concentration of chemicals in the mouth that include sulphur and give off unpleasant odour when consumed together with or after a meal that contains a lot of garlic. Full-fat milk has been found to be more effective at reducing odour than fat-free milk.

Use the heavy hitters if all other consumable (or consumable-by-drinking) cures fail. Brush your teeth, floss, and then thoroughly gargle with mouthwash. The simplest solution is often the best one. Since there are so many all-natural ways to prevent garlic breath, you shouldn't let the possibility of it frighten you off from utilising the veggie. So go ahead and eat that plate of garlicky spaghetti, but keep one of these techniques in mind for when you're done.
