We all know that gin and tonic is one of the simplest cocktails to make but it has a long history behind its creation. If experts are to be believed, the creation of this popular drink is related to the expansion of the British empire into the Indian subcontinent. It is believed that this drink was actually created as a measure to protect the officials of the East Indian Company and British soldiers from malaria, considered a deadly disease back then. Well, who knew this cocktail would rule hearts in the future?
