Diwali is not a one-day festival but a chain of festivals starting from Dhanteras and concluding at Bhai Dooj. Just like Raksha Bandhan, Bhai Dooj is also the festival that celebrates the pious relationship of a brother and sister. On this day, sisters put tilak on their brother’s forehead while praying for their health and happiness. As per religious beliefs, Lord Krishna visited his sister Subhadra on this day after defeating Narakasura. While welcoming, Subhadra applied tilak on Lord Krishna’s forehead. Since this, this day has been celebrated as Bhai Dooj.

Just like Raksha Bandhan, Bhai Dooj is celebrated with equal zeal and enthusiasm in most Indian homes. It is that time of the year when you get to indulge in so many sweets. So, just to impress your brother this Bhai Dooj, we have a few Indian fusion desserts. Believe me, these desserts are going to make your festival so special. Coconut Rose Jalebi

We all jalebis and why not. Though not originated from India, these rings soaked in sugar syrup are a staple to every other Indian household. Be it a festival or Khushi ka mauka, jalebis always find their way. But you can make this Bhai Dooj even more special by having coconut rose jalebi. Regular jalebis with this rose flavour and sweetened coconut shreds could be the show stealer.

Tiramisu Barfi

Tiramisu is one such Italian dessert that has our heart. This Bhai Dooj, you can have the taste of this amazing Italian dessert in your desi barfi. All you have to do is take expresso-soaked coffee, top it with Kalakand barfi and sprinkle it with cocoa powder. I am sure, your brother is going to love this dessert and will give you some extra gifts!!

Kesar Pista Cupcakes

Cupcakes are our all-time favourite but these desi cupcakes can make you go crazy. Not just it looks tempting but tastes amazing. These easy-to-make cupcakes have pistachios with a layer of saffron-loaded cream cheese. Don’t wait for anything else but have this dessert to gather praises from your brother.

Kaju Katli Ice-cream Sandwich

Kaju-Katli needs no introduction. Diwali is incomplete without Kaju-Katli and you know what, you can have this dessert in Bhai Dooj as well. This delight not only tastes good but looks good too. All you have to do is stuff a spoonful of ice cream between two kaju katli pieces and enjoy. This would get ready in less than 10 minutes and is going to be sooo amazing.

Cookies and Cream Barfi

I know we all love cookies and cream flavour, especially in Hershey’s chocolate. Isn’t it?  For those who don’t know, cookies and cream are a popular ice cream flavour blend of vanilla with cream-filled cookie sandwiches. This dessert is something that happens when the Indian barfi meets American flavour. You can also add Orea biscuits if you want.
