Gradually, there is a shortage of water everywhere. For example, in 2018, there was such a water shortage in Shimla that the administration had to appeal to the tourists not to visit the city. Now in such a situation, it can be understood that there has been a shortage of drinking water in the world. In cities, people buy mineral water ranging between 40 to 60 rupees (per 20-litre bottle). But what about those who cannot buy this water and cannot install a water filter in their house? Perhaps, they can make it at home. So in today's article, we'll tell you how to make mineral water at home.
Step 1: Filter the tap water
To make mineral water, first, filter the tap water. For this, take a piece of alum in a cotton cloth and tie it in the tap. Then fill a jar with tap water and put a bit of fitkari in that jar too. Alum makes the water pure by pulling all the impurity of the water towards itself. In villages, people drink the water of the river by using alum.
Step 2: Use Baking Soda
Now the next step is to use baking soda in the filtered water. For this, add 1/8 tsp of baking soda to 1 litre of filtered water. Baking soda, made from sodium bicarbonate, mixes sodium with water. This mineral prevents some common ailments like indigestion, constipation, bloating, dehydration and arthritis. This is the first step of purifying water, and with this, the water becomes half pure.
Step 3: Use rock salt
After baking soda, add 1/8 tsp of rock salt to 1 litre of filtered water. Rock salt acts as a disinfectant that keeps humans safe from bacterial attacks. Thus, it further enhances the purity of filtered water.
Step 4: Mix Potassium Bicarbonate
Add 1/8 tsp of potassium bicarbonate to the filtered water that you have made so far. It is an essential element added to mineral water that balances blood pressure in humans. In addition, it keeps heart diseases away and prevents cardiac attacks.
Step 5: Now mix well
To make water completely mineral, it is necessary to mix all these things well in water. After mixing the water well:
- Boil the water for a minute.
- Please keep it aside to cool down.
- After an hour, your homemade filtered mineral water is ready.
