Loved for its bright yellow colour and sweet taste, meethe chawal is a must-have dish on Vasant Panchami. It is made with long-grained basmati rice. Are you also planning to make some meethe chawal this time around? Here are some tips you need to keep in mind:

1. Use the long-grained basmati rice, as it’s more fragrant and flavoursome than the rest. Moreover, it also enhances the look of the dish.

2. Roast the nuts and dry fruits in ghee on low/medium flame to prevent them from burning.

3. Add cardamom pods and cloves to the ghee and roast them first instead of adding them at the end. This will help to bring out the authentic taste.
