This version of kadha is a self-tried recipe that has proved its wonders by preventing me and my family from numerous infections. The recipe is a family culinary treasure that we have been preserving for decades now.

To make kadha, boil two cups of water first. While the water is coming to a boil, peel and pound some ginger along with 7-8 basil leaves, black peppercorns, cloves and a cinnamon stick in a mortar and pestle. Add these ingredients to the boiling water and cook on medium heat for about 20 minutes till the decoction is reduced to half. Strain the drink in a glass, add a tablespoon of honey to it and relish. You can also add a bay leaf for fragrance and flavour.

Try this kadha at home this winter to save yourself from numerous infections and let us know how you like it. You can experiment with the ingredients and add any other ingredient you like to add nutrition and flavour to it.
