Think Italian cuisine and pizza is one of the first to cross our mind, isn’t it? A go-to food when there's a house party or a movie night, pizza fits the bill on all occasions. The popularity is such that while pizza may be from Italy, the love of pizza has spread across the world. And then there’s so much variety of pizza, with a host of different and flavourful toppings, types of bases and oodles of spices and herbs – you just can’t resist. And while picking up the phone and ordering one may look like an easy option, trust me it is the most confusing thing you’ll have to do. I mean imagine choosing a base, then picking up a topping with all the veggies, cheese, sauces and so on. Isn’t it better if you make that pizza at home itself? Yes, you can do that. A simple pizza is always a better option than the one with lots of toppings, and we are here to help you ace it at home.

Tips To Make Pizza At Home

1. Don’t use cold dough

If your dough is in the fridge, remove it at least half an hour before and allow t to come to room temperature. It will relax the gluten and allow you to stretch into any shape you desire.

2. Stretch the dough instead of rolling

Once your dough is rested and warmed to room temperature, it will be very elastic and easy to stretch with a slightly bubbly texture. You want to keep it that way, so skip the rolling pin since it would only deflate the dough and give you a cardboard crust. Instead, put dough on a floured pizza peel and gently pull from the center to make a round or oval shape.

3. Do not use excess of tomato sauce

Too much of tomato sauce or tomato slices can make the crust soggy. Also, squeze out the juice of slices before adding them.

4. Precook the toppings

To make your veggies soft and tender, saute them before putting it on the pizza. Same goes for your meats like sausages and bacon.

5. Top the crust with olive oil

Right before putting the crust in oven, brush it with some olive oil and you'll get great color, crunch and flavour all at once.
