Parathas have been my all-time favourite breakfast option. Tasty, crispy, stuffed parathas happen to everyone's choice in this chilly weather. But beware as it has some side effects too such as deprivation of many nutrients, fear of weight gain etc. but worry not as there are healthy ways to make these parathas be with the stuffing of Aloo, paneer, gobi, and more that are beneficial. You can also adopt many other leads to make these parathas a little healthier.

Healthy ingredients for kneading dough

Is water left after making a paneer dish at home? You can use its water for kneading parathas as it's valuable for your health. You can also use the residual curd water for parathas (after making hung curd). These ingredients are considered a good source of probiotics and other nutrients. Also, adding spinach puree and fenugreek puree while kneading the dough for parathas enhances the taste and nutrients. Apart from this, you can also use lentil water or boiled lentils for kneading the paratha dough, making them healthier, crispier, and tastier.

Get rid of excess moisture

Whether potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, or any other stuffing, special care should be taken regarding their moisture content. If you do not want your parathas to break while rolling, make sure the water dries up completely. Also, there should not be any big lumps in the mixture. Apart from this, if you want desi taste and make parathas healthy, then use homemade desi ghee instead of packaged butter.

Incorporate healthy seeds

Ajwain, roasted cumin, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and flaxseeds can be added while stuffing the paratha. All these seeds are rich in nutrients like vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids, which make up for the deficiency of these elements in the body. Moreover, by eating it in the morning, you remain full of energy throughout the day.

Healthy stuffing

Apart from potato and paneer, soybean, corn, avocado, broccoli, moong dal, sattu, etc., can also be used for stuffing paratha. Apart from being good at the taste, it's also super healthy, and this stuffing will make the parathas very crispy. Also, their most prominent feature is that it will keep the stomach full for a long time.

Healthy things to garnish

While making parathas on the pan, you can sprinkle your favourite carom seeds apart from coriander leaves, mint leaves, basil leaves and mixed herbs. The extra zing of these fresh herbs can enhance the taste of your parathas along with the nutrients present in them.
