Sniff it
You can determine whether any oil is real or fake just by smelling it. For this, put light oil in a small glass and cover it well with your hands. Next, rub the glass with one hand for a while so that the glass becomes hot. When the glass becomes slightly hot, remove the hand and smell the oil. If there is no fruity, veggie or sour smell from the oil, the oil can be adulterated because fake olive oil never smells.
Taste it
