Ingredients

  • 250 gm all purpose flour
  • 2 cup refined oil
  • 100 gm khoya
  • 2 handfuls mixed dry fruits
  • 1 1/2 cup dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • water as required
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon powdered black cardamom

Method

  • Start by chopping up the dry fruits into small pieces before making this chocolate treat. The dark chocolate should then be added to a small bowl and heated in the microwave for a few seconds to melt it.
  • Now, add the all-purpose flour and ghee to a sizable bowl. To create a stiff dough, add water gradually after thoroughly mixing the dry ingredients. After the dough is finished, place a wet cloth over the bowl and set aside for 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the stuffing. Put khoya in a pan over a medium flame. After roasting it until it becomes light yellow, turn off the heat, transfer it to a bowl, and allow it to cool for a few seconds. Add crushed dry fruits and cardamom powder to the bowl once the khoya has reached room temperature. Then, combine again before adding powdered sugar and melted chocolate.
  • Make little balls of dough by dividing them in half. The little balls should be compressed with your palms before being rolled into tiny pooris with a rolling pin.
  • Put the rolled out dough on the gujiya mould, and then fill the hollow part of the mould with 2 tbsp of stuffing. After wetting the edges, seal the mould. Remove the extra dough by tightly pressing it from all sides. Place the gujiya on a platter after removing it from the mould. Using the remaining dough, repeat the procedure.
  • Now heat some olive oil for frying in a deep pan with a medium burner. Then, carefully place the prepared gujiya into the oil and fry till golden brown on both sides.
  • Transfer the finished gujiyas to a plate covered with absorbent paper or kitchen towels to drain off any extra oil.
