Bachka

The Bihari khali is incomplete without bachka. These are fritters made from different kinds of vegetables especially eggplants, potato, onions and pumpkins. They act as the perfect starters and they're also eaten during playing with colours. Sometimes, they are also infused with bhaang.

Dahi Vada

One dish that can never be forgotten in a proper holy thali is the hibara. This dish made with curd, imli ki chutney and different spices is the perfect sweet salty and spicy combination that you need to eat. The vadas soaked in a sweet and spicy dahi gravy make for a heavenly combination.

Mutton Curry

A busy Holi afternoon after playing with colours and roaming around the entire colony with your friends is incomplete without having spicy mutton curry at every single household that you go. each one of the houses in the neighbourhood would have a different but very special mutton Curry that they would serve after you're done painting their entire house with your colors. police and community festival and eating mutton curry at different houses makes it a worthwhile experience.

Kathal

Known as vegetarian meat, kathal has the perfect consistency of mutton and the special dish made during Holi tastes like meat as well. Sometimes, after getting tired and playing Holi, there is hardly any difference between the delicious mutton curry and the kathal gravy. 

Poori 

There is quite nothing better than enjoying your mutton Curry with some hot round puris made right away. During holi festivities, there would be huge ‘chulhas’ to make piping hot puris. Every single thing tastes better with some puris.

Malpua

No Holi platter is ever complete without a rich serving of malpua and rubri. This desert is as popular in Bihar as it is in other Indian states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh or Uttar Pradesh, Just the method of making it changes at every place. The malpuas made in Bihar is extremely thick, loaded with dry fruits and engulfed in chashni. 

Thandai 

If there is one drink that signifies the festival of holy, then it is this one. Thandai Is a milk based drink that is extremely popular during Holi. It is sometimes laced with bhaang – which is the most fun part of it. But bhaang or not, having thandai while playing holi for hours quenches thirst and re-energizes people instantly.
