A favourite childhood memory of ours involves white butter. Although it may seem like a long time ago, we used to be fed paranthas by our grandmother with a spoonful of white butter, a custom that has since fallen out of favour. With the advent of new age science and several studies detailing the numerous benefits and drawbacks of butter, the only question we are left with is whether or not we should continue to consume our grandmother's recipes.

White butter is not a new addition to Indian cuisine, but it has been supplanted by posh-looking "trans-fat free" butter that promises quick weight loss and improved health. Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, who promotes eating locally, has also discussed the several advantages of this Indian superfood, including weight loss.

Difference between white and yellow butter

The nutrient content is the primary distinction between white butter and yellow butter available on the market. White butter, on the other hand, is rich in nutrients like vitamins A and D and includes none of the excess salt, trans fats, sugars, or colouring additives found in yellow butter. When it comes to calories, market-sold butter may advertise that they are "low or no calorie," but they actually include secret synthetic fats that can still cause weight gain. However, white butter has nutritious calories that are vital for both weight loss and a healthy physique.

Weight loss

Lecithin, a component found in white butter, helps our bodies assimilate lipids. It needs good fat to reduce the bad fat. This procedure is aided by white butter. Weight loss becomes sustainable once the fat is lost.

Immunity booster

Saturated fats included in white butter preserve nutrients that support the immune system, including calcium, phosphorus, and vitamins A and D. A small amount of white butter won't harm you if your immune system is compromised.

Speeds metabolism

Lecithin not only helps reduce harmful fats but also speeds up metabolism, which is another component of weight loss. Increased metabolism also translates to higher levels of exercise. An indication of a healthy physique is this.

Lubricates joints

People with joint pain should include a tablespoon of white butter in their daily diet since it has a molecular structure that can absorb fat and lubricate joints.

Higher brain activity

Arachidonic Acid (AA), which is present in white butter, promotes improved brain activity and function. For this reason, children who grew up eating white butter with paranthas were far more adept at mental math in antiquity.
