In the video posted by @snappysage, the thali is first filled with loads of rice from a huge pot. This plate is then taken to the curry section where the vendor pours in one dish after another. He pours the rajma on one side, kadhi pakora adjacent to it and surrounds the entire plate with chaap, chole and mix vegetable. In the centre, he places a big chunk of paneer dipped in tomato-onion gravy. The paneer is broken in the centre and a piece of chopped radish is placed on the bite.
The caption of the video reads, “6 in 1 Punjabi Thali” and also mentions that the thali is being sold at New Punjabi Khaana in Nehru Place area of New Delhi. This lip-smacking video has garnered 174k views and over 600k likes since it was posted. Tempted much? We have a range of these curries that you can easily make at home now.
1. Rajma
The kidney beans are dunked in thick and juicy gravy of onions and tomatoes along with loads of spices. The ginger-garlic paste gives it a pungent taste whereas the garam masala gives it the required kick. It is usually served with steamed rice.
2. Kadhi Pakora
The yoghurt-based curry is dunked with crispy, fried onion pakoras which are eaten with plain rice. The yellow-coloured curry gets its tanginess and freshness from the use of yoghurt and the consistency of the curry is very soupy.
3. Shahi Paneer
The vibrant and colourful bowl of shahi paneer is sure to win your heart. Cubes of cottage cheese are cooked in a tomato and onion gravy and garnished with dry coriander leaves.
