A brilliant dancer and actor, Gauahar Khan rose to fame after she won the reality show, Bigg Boss. A multi-faceted personality with a host of talents, Gauhar has featured in several OTT series and shows thereafter. It is from her days on the reality show, Khan sisters, that we recall her love for food. Not only does she religiously keep all her rozas or fasts during Ramazan, she also enjoys her pre-fast and post-fast meals. Do you know what is she eating for sehri this time?
Beginning 2nd April, the holy month of Ramazan coincided with Navratri this year. The month-long period of fasts involves eating early in the morning before sunrise and then breaking the fast at the end of the day when the sun has set. The Muslims observing these fasts are expected to abstain from any food or water after dawn and only consume the first bite of food once the sun sets. It is believed that these fasts bring you closer to God.
Recently, Gauahar Khan took to her Instagram handle to share her Sehri food with us. She posted a picture of herself with holding a piece of mango and polled on her story, asking everyone, “Are you eating mango yet”? with a yes and no response. She captioned it saying, “Sehri No.1”. Seems like the actress is a great fan of the king of fruits.
If you are also keeping rozas this Ramazan, here are some sehri recipes that will help you stay full for longer.
1. Oats Kheer
A light, refreshing and chilled dessert is a great relief during summers. Instead of using rice grains, alternate them with oats. Soaked oats are used to prepare this milk pudding which comes packed with the sweetness of dates, raisins and the crunch of almonds. It is a healthy take on your regular kheer.
2.Egg Paratha
Since you have to stay without an inch of food and water the entire day, you need energy to work and survive. Proteins provide you with a lot of energy and are your survival kit. Make this stuffed egg paratha for sehri and keep yourself satiated for longer.
3. Makhmali Dahi Kebab
There isn’t a better option than soft and melt-in-your-mouth kebabs for an early morning indulgence. They aren’t too heavy on the stomach and the hung curd and coriander leaves leave you with a fresh after taste.
