Gulab jamun cake | Instagram - @gargis_homemade_cake

Ingredients

  • 500 ml milk
  • 200 gm sugar
  • 1 cup refined oil
  • 2 cups maida
  • 2 tbsp milk powder
  • 2 tbsp sooji
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp elaichi powder
  • Saffron strands
  • Rose essence
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Dry fruits for garnishing

Method

  • Add lemon juice to the milk at room temperature and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  • Add half the sugar, oil and rose essence and mix everything well.
  • Now, add flour, milk powder, sooji and corn flour and mix till the batter has no lumps.
  • After that, mix baking soda and powder, salt, saffron and cardamom powder to the batter.
  • Transfer it to a baking tin and bake for 50-60 minutes at 18- degrees.
  • Meanwhile, prepare sugar syrup with the rest of the sugar and saffron.
  • After taking out the cake, pour sugar syrup over it.
  • Garnish with dry fruits and your cake is ready!
  • Additionally, you can garnish the cake with whipped cream and gulab jamuns on top.
