If you follow international news, you know that currently world leaders and journalists are in Italy participating and covering the G7 Summit. It is an annual forum that invites world leaders. This year, the event is taking place in Puglia, a city that symbolises the bridge between the East and the West. The G7 Summit started on June 13, 2024, and it will continue till June 15, 2024.

While everyone is eyeing the discussion happening in Italy, foodies are focused on how Italian restaurants are treating the leaders of the world. Usually, France, Italy, Japan, Canada, Germany, the US, and the UK participate in this annual forum, but India has been an integral part of this conference for more than a decade. This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fifth participation, making it even more special for the country.

Seafront Gala Dinner For World Leaders

According to an exclusive by the NDTV, Italian President Sergio Mattarella hosted a seafront gala dinner for the world leaders on June 13, 2024. From Joe Biden to Rishi Sunak, the G7 Summit leaders were invited to join the Italian president in Borgo Egnazia, located in the southern region of Puglia.  

According to ANI, Prime Minister Modi arrived at Brindisi Airport in Italy on June 14, 2024. He will be participating in the G7 Outreach Summit programme today. Reportedly, PM Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will sit for a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the summit. 

Indian Restaurant To Host PM Narendra Modi

NDTV reported that an Indian restaurant, Ristorante Indiano Namaste (Namaste Indian Restaurant), will be hosting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his team in Bari. The food joint is known for serving the taste of India in Italy.

They specialise in Indian dishes, mostly from the regions of Punjab. From crispy samosa served with green chutney to flavoursome biryani and creamy sarson ka saag, customers can agree that this restaurant has established a mini Punjab in Italy. Not just savouries like paneer curries, aloo gobi, mutton curries, butter naan, chicken curries, and pulao, but their menu also features Indian sweets like coconut ladoo and milk-based delights.
