Simple yet sumptuous fruit custard is one of the best desserts which is both healthy and tasty. It’s a milk-based dessert which is perfect to have during the summer season. The sweet dessert is a blend of a variety of fruits and custard powder and is prepared with simple ingredients which are usually already available at home.
The custard is largely served in India and it can also be prepared without custard powder by replacing custard powder with cornstarch or arrowroot starch. It tastes best when served cold.

• 1 tsp dates (chopped)
• 1 tsp raisins
• 1 tsp almonds (chopped)
Method:
• Take a bowl and add 2 tbsps custard powder to it.
• Now, add ¼ milk to the same bowl and mix well so that there are no lumps of powder.
• Next, take 2 cups (500 ml) milk in a heavy non-stick pan or kadai and heat it over medium flame until it boils.
• Make sure to stir it occasionally to avoid sticking.
• After it boils, add ½ cup sugar to the pan.
• Now, switch off the flame and put the milk-custard powder mixture and mix well.
• Now, it’s time to cook the mixture over low flame for 5-6 minutes, until it starts to thicken.
• Keep stirring the mixture continuously to avoid sticking or burning the milk.
• Once done, switch off the flame and transfer this mixture to a big bowl.
• Let the custard cool down and appear thick.
• Keep it outside for a while and then cover and refrigerate it for at least an hour.
• Once the plain custard is ready, add fruits to it.
• Chop all the fruits – apples, bananas, and grapes into small pieces. You can also add other fruits such as papaya, pomegranate seeds, and blueberry, etc., as per your choice.
• Once the custard is refrigerated for 1 hour, take it out and add fruits.

• Garnish it with crushed cashews and raisins.
• Your fruit custard is ready to serve.

• You can use any fruits as per your preference but don’t use citrus fruits or melons.
• You can also add vanilla or mango ice cream to the custard.
