If we ask you about comfort food, what will be your immediate answer? Well, for most north Indians, it’ll either be rajma-chawal or chhole chawal. As an Odia, for me, it’s the summer dish, Pakhala Bhata, that brings comfort. If we see, generally most Indians will say that biryani is their ultimate comfort food. Well, there is one thing to notice here that all the mentioned dishes are made with rice. Be it the south Indian Bisi Bele Baath or the north Indian rajma-chawal, rice dishes spell ‘comfort’ like no other to many Indians. Recently Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty took to her Instagram handle to post about her favourite food. And guess what! It is rajma-chawal indeed.
On her social media handle, the actress recently posted an ‘Ask Me My Favourites’ story. Fans flooded the story asking her hundreds of questions - ranging from her favourite picture of 2021 to her favourite cities and movies. However, what grabbed our attention was the question about her favourite food. Upon being asked by a fan about what she likes to eat the most, Athiya shared a picture of rajma-chawal. The next food-related questions were also quite interesting.
A fan asked Athiya about her favourite cheat meal and Athiya replied to it with a picture of one of the world’s famous fast-food chains - McDonald’s. Another question was about her favourite ice-cream flavours and she shared a picture of a yellow and pink-hued ice-cream. To clear away confusion, she also shared a banana and strawberry emoji clearly stating that her favourite ice cream flavours were banana and strawberry.
As we are already entering the summer season, Athiya’s favourite fruit and its accompaniment is sure to help you indulge this season. The actress revealed that her favourite fruit is mango and she enjoys it with a sprinkle of red chilli powder.
Quite popular for her lifestyle practices, Athiya has often taken to her social media handles to post about her indulgences ranging from coffee to mouth-watering desserts. She once took to her Instagram handle to share a picture of a delicious-looking dessert with the caption, ‘Life is short, make it sweet.’
Let’s hope she shares more such drool-worthy pictures on her social media handles.
