Tickling the funny bone of the internet has now become a thing that Farah Khan can add to her illustrious list of achievements – besides being a successful film director and choreographer. While her tryst in the kitchen has been making waves as she continues to share family recipes of delicious Thai curry, butter chicken, Yakhni pulao and lemon pie – Farah is also known for her extensive list of industry friends, with whom she enjoys breaking bread. Most recently, in true Farah style, the director decided to join the popular comedians Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiya for lunch at a Bandra restaurant.
Promising the couple a meal of jeera aloo, butter chicken-naan and biryani, Farah ‘tricked’ the duo into enjoying a meal of sashimi and different types of sushi preparations. Handing them a pair of chopsticks, Farah proceeds to let Chef Beena Noronha serve a preparation of what she describes as a ‘Japanese-style sol kadhi’ poured over fresh salmon and tuna carpaccio. As the three awaited more food in the comical build-up, a serving of the restaurant’s 24-carat gold plated sushi arrived at their table. Stuffed with tuna and cream cheese, the sushi roll was also adorned with gold leaf and edible flowers.

Other dishes on the table that became a part of the feast in quick succession consisted of a delicious seafood linguine with shrimp, mussels and chilli, prawn tempura sushi roll, shrimp yakimeshi – or Japanese fried rice and a Wafu chicken to eat with it. As the meal progressed, Haarsh also shared an anecdote about eating the best khichdi ever when he visited Bharti in her family home a few years ago. As the meal came to an end, Farah and Haarsh decided to play a prank on Bharti, leaving her in a limbo with the restaurant’s staff about paying the bill and also went on to introduce one of the establishment’s co-owners – Dhaval Udeshi – in the video, on their way out.
