Eid is synonymous with sheer khurma. Also known as sweet vermicelli or meethi sevaiyan, this is a must have dessert on eid. Sheer Khurma translates to 'milk with dates' in Persian, so it is a scrumptious pudding made up of milk, vermicelli, date and nuts. It could be labelled as the denser version of seviyan and is the first thing Muslims eat after offering their first namaz on Eid.
Baklava
Among the most loved Turkish desserts is Baklava. This dessert is made up of filo pastry layers laced with pure butter and chopped nuts, especially pistachios. Then, soaked in rose sugar syrup, this dessert is extremely fragrant, crunchy and delicious. Ever tried this dessert?

This dessert is loaded with the goodness of ghee, milk and dry fruits. Shahi tukda has bread pieces fried in ghee and dipped in cardamom and saffron infused condensed milk and dry fruits. Though both these desserts are majorly similar, the only difference is in the thickness.
Phirni
Could be labelled as kheer’s first cousin, phirni is made up of milk, ground rice, cardamom, rose water, saffron and nuts. It doesn’t use whole rice but the ground version and is prepared in many regions on Eid. Often served in clay vessels, this dessert is best served chilled.
