Are you thinking of serving something unusual to your besties? There is no other option than some scrumptious fried treats. We all feel a little hesitant about deep-fried foods, but hey, let’s accept that nothing tastes better than fried veggies. If you want to experiment with something new, you got to try broccoli, zucchini and sweet potato fries. Does it sound strange? The recipe might change your thoughts! Let's try a lip-smacking version of the three. 

Broccoli Fries

Ingredients 

  • 500 grams broccoli 
  • 1-2 cups breadcrumbs and flour 
  • 1 tsp black pepper, garlic powder, chilli flakes and oregano seasoning each 
  • Oil for frying 

Recipe 

  1. Cut broccoli into small pieces 
  2. Make the coating by blending breadcrumbs with all the dry ingredients 
  3. Make the mixture by whisking flour and water. Ensure that the mix-up is not too thick (but a bit runny) 
  4. Soak the pieces in the mix and cover them with breadcrumbs 
  5. Add oil to the pan, and till the broccoli pieces turn golden brown deep fry them. 
  6. Serve broccoli fries with mayo dip.

  • 3 zucchinis 
  • Oil for frying 

Recipe 

  1. Slice and peel zucchinis into long clean pieces 
  2. Mix breadcrumbs with all the dry ingredients and prepare the coating. 
  3. Prepare the batter by mixing flour and water. Ensure that the mix is not very thick (a bit runny) 
  4. Drop zucchini in the mixture and layer it with the type of breadcrumbs 
  5. Add oil to the pan, and till zucchini turns golden brown deep fry them. 
  6. Serve the zucchini fries with green chutney. 

Sweet Potato Fries

Ingredients 

  • 1 tsp chilli flakes, oregano seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper each 
  • 2 sweet potatoes (large) 
  • Oil for frying 

Recipe 

  1. Slice and peel sweet potatoes into long clean pieces 
  2. In a pan, deep fry them 
  3. Take sweet potatoes out and, with the help of tissue paper, dry their oil 
  4. Sprinkle dry ingredients over sweet potatoes while placing them in a bowl 
  5. To have a proper coating of the spices, toss the fries 
  6. Serve sweet potato fries with tomato chutney
