With its crispy crust, melt-in-the-mouth cheese, and exotic toppings, pizza is one of the top go-to foods in India. Being a part of Italian cuisine, this world-famous delicacy has many variations. Some classic varieties of pizza are Neapolitan, Margarita, and Pepperoni. With both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, pizza today is exposed to many culinary experiments. It has also got many desi versions as well, such as tandoori paneer, kebabs, and naan pizza.
Another great thing about this dish is that you can improvise with the ingredients according to your preference, especially with the toppings. Typically, homemade pizzas are baked in an oven, but there are many other ways to make them if you don’t have an oven in your kitchen. From a tawa on the stovetop to a grill, many cooking appliances can be used for it. But have you ever tried making a pizza in an air fryer? Believe me, it gives a perfectly crunchy and mouth-watering result in no time.
If you want to give it a shot, here's a simple recipe for air fryer pizza:
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- 12-inch pizza dough
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons pizza sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon basil, freshly chopped
Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 375° Fahrenheit. Prepare the Air Fryer basket with olive oil or non-stick cooking spray and a parchment paper liner to prevent the pizza from sticking.
- Roll the pizza dough out on a floured surface. Make the dough similar to the size of your air fryer basket.
- Carefully transfer it to the air fryer, then brush lightly with a teaspoon of olive oil.
- Spoon on a light layer of pizza sauce and sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, along with your favourite toppings.
- Air-fry the pizza for 7 minutes at 370 degrees Fahrenheit until you see a golden-brown crispy crust and the cheese has melted.
- Top with extra basil, cheese, and red pepper flakes, and serve hot.
