Lauki Lajawab or Crispy Fried Lauki
Ingredients
- 1 large bottle gourd or lauki
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ tsp kasoori methi powder
- ½ tsp roasted cumin powder
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp chaat masala
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp garam masala
- ½ lemon
- 1½ cups
- Oil to fry
For Batter
- ½ cup besan flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp kasoori methi powder
- ½ cup water
Method
- Start by peeling the lauki and cutting its edge.
- Slice the lauki into circles and make a hole in them.
- Put the circled lauki pieces into a parat.
- Now, add salt, black salt, kasoori methi, roasted cumin powder, chili powder, chaat masala, coriander powder, turmeric, and garam masala.
- Mix well and add lemon juice.
- Mix again and let it sit for the next few minutes.
- Take a bowl and add besan to it.
- Add chili powder, salt, kasoori methi powder, and water to bring it to the proper consistency.
- Dip the sliced lauki into the besan batter and then into the bread crumbs.
- Fry until crispy and serve with your favourite chutney.
