Swiggy – the convenience platform for food delivery, has levelled up to a new benchmark in their service, with their newest initiative allowing customers on houseboats on the Dal Lake in Srinagar, having the chance to order food online. The picturesque tourist spot, which attracts thousands of visitors each year for the experience of sailing on one of the many houseboats, will be able to indulge in local cuisine experiences while soaking up the sights.
Collaborating with a network of Shikara operators, delivery partners will sail to the houseboat from where the order was placed, with the help of the expertise and boats that will ferry them from land. Since the lake deliveries are expected to take longer than on-road deliveries, the partners will be compensated adequately for their time. While this not only enhances the experience of the visitors looking for a truly authentic experience, the move is also meant to encourage more restaurants to avail their preparations for online ordering and doorstep delivery.
