Chuda Ghasa is primarily made of flattened or beaten rice, locally known as "chuda" in Odia. Ghasa means the main procedure of making the dish. The process involves rubbing Chuda. The more you rub, the better the taste. It is considered an excellent dish that provides energy after a day-long fast.

Ingredients:

  • 300 g chuda (chiwda)
  • 110 g sugar (adjust as needed)
  • 150 g fresh grated coconut (you can increase the quantity of coconut as per your taste)
  • 1.5 tbsp ghee
  • 2-3 cardamoms
  • 20-25 black peppercorns
  • Apple or any fruits
  • Small pieces of coconut, grapes, dry fruits

Method:

  • In a mixer jar add sugar, cardamom, and black peppercorns. Grind it into a powder. Upon it add chiwda and grind it coarsely
  • Now add the coarse mixture to a wide plate add ghee and mix.
  • Rub and mix ghee with the chidwa mixture. This process leads to a nice flavour when getting combined with each other.
  • Add the freshly grated coconut and again rub and mix with the rest of the mixture.
  • When done, you can add small pieces of coconut or fruits like apples and grapes.
  • Serve it to Lord Ganesha.
