Fudge is believed to have originated in the US during the late 19th Century. On Valentine’s Day, 1886, in Baltimore, Maryland, a confectioner and chocolate maker fudged a batch of French caramels resulting in the first batch of delicious fudge. Since then, the recipes started rolling over periodicals and advertisements and became popular all over America. The popularity was based on two facts.

One was the decreasing cost of refined white sugar and the other, it was easy to make at home without any special equipment. During those times, people used to rely upon confectioners and bakers for sweet delicacies as all these recipes required specialised ovens that could not be affordable by all. This recipe became popular and secured a place during celebrations. Since fudge was invented on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, this recipe became a must-try on February 14 to show love towards the partners.

Chocolate Fudge can make anyone crazy as the dark chocolate along with the perfect balance of sweetened condensed milk melts in the mouth leaving a relishing experience. The three ingredients make the recipe easy. Chocolate Fudge can further be moulded and experimented in other different recipes like chocolate fudge cake and chocolate fudge ice cream. Each recipe holds a uniqueness and love to be served on table. This dish could be refrigerated and stored in an airtight container for a month.

Here’s the recipe for Chocolate Fudge.

Ingredients:

  • 40 gms dark chocolate bar
