Ingredients:
For the paneer:
• 400 gms paneer cubes
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp red chilli powder
• Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
• 2 tbsps cornstarch
• 3 tbsps oil
For the sauce:
• 1 tbsp ginger (finely chopped)
• 2 cups bell pepper (diced)
• 1 tbsp red chilli sauce
• 2 tbsps soy sauce
• 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
• 1 tsp sugar
For the chilli paneer:
• ¼ cup water
• 1 tsp cornstarch
• ½ tsp white vinegar
• 2 tbsps coriander (finely chopped)
Method:
• Combine the paneer pieces, salt, red chilli powder, finely ground black pepper and corn starch in a medium mixing bowl.
• To ensure that each paneer cube is evenly coated with cornstarch, add extra water if it is too dry. Place aside.
• Mix 1/4 cup water and 1 teaspoon cornstarch, then set aside.
• In a large frying pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil.
• Add prepped paneer cubes and lightly fried till golden brown on every side.
• Take it and place it on a plate that has been covered with paper towels.
• Heat the same frying pan.
• After shallow frying the paneer, there will be some oil remaining in this pan.
• Add the chopped ginger and cook for a short while.
• Add the chopped bell pepper and continue to fry for 2 minutes on high heat.
• Add sugar, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, and red chilli sauce.
• Stir it thoroughly, then set the flame to low or medium.
• Stir in paneer cubes that have been shallow-fried.
• Mix thoroughly after adding cornstarch and water, the thickened sauce is ideal for the dry chilli paneer.
• However, you can increase the water amount if you want more gravy.
• Mix in a half-teaspoon of white vinegar, then add salt as desired after tasting.
• Turn off the heat and serve.
