The festival of Eid is right around the corner. Eid is one of the most widely celebrated festivals across the globe. Several Muslims observe fasts through the month of Ramadan, and then celebrate Eid-Al-Fitr with much pomp and fervour. From visiting mosques, to adorning new clothes and collecting Eidi from elders in the family, Eid is marked with many sweet rituals, especially this ‘Meethi Eid’. On this occasion, there’s also a custom of preparing special desserts like Sheer Khurma (a vermicelli-based milk pudding) or Qimami Sevaiyan (another vermicelli-based dessert, slightly thicker). Desserts rule the 'Meethi Eid' spread, but this spread is certainly incomplete without a round of delish snacks.

Here are some of our favourite chicken snacks that are sure to leave a mark.

Chicken Malai Tikka

Tikkas and kebabs are always a good idea to serve at any gathering, be it big or small. This malai tikka is especially fit for those who are always looking for something with an added touch of richness. Smoky, juicy boneless tikkas covered with creamy Malai marinade finished with coriander. Pair with mint chutney for the best experience.

Chicken Seekh Kabab

Isn’t this a no-brainer, you did not think of putting together an Eid feast without some kebabs, did you? Seekh kababs are perhaps one of the oldest kinds of kebabs out there. These are shaped as long, slender pipes. All you need to is place a handful of minced meat around a skewer and grill to perfection. These kebabs also taste the best with mint chutney.

Chicken Pakora

No time for tikkas or kebabs? No problem. Take some boneless chicken dunk it in a spicy batter of besan and deep-fry until golden. These crisp and juicy pakodas can be made in a matter of minutes, and are always a hit with people of  all age groups.

Chicken Shawarma

Chicken Shawarma is a type of a middle-eastern wrap, in which pita bread is wrapped with shreds of cooked chicken, bellpeppers, onion. Sauces and smears are optional. It can be served with mayonnaise and fries. This filling snack, will eliminate the need to make any other elaborate snack.

Chicken Samosa

Did you know samosa is inspired by a middle-eastern snack named ‘sambusak’. Samosa travelled to India somewhere in medieval times, and it was here that the fillings got a vegetarian twist, otherwise, sambusak’s stuffing was almost always made of meat mince. This chicken samosa too is replete with goodness of chicken keema and spices. The triangular puff-pastry is deep-fried until golden and crisp. Serve it with any chutney or dip of your choice, you know it will spell magic.

Eid Mubarak everybody.
