What grabbed the eyeballs was the menu. It flavours of Rajasthan, Gujarat and more on a plate with dishes like 'Pyaaz ki kachori', 'Laal Maas' and 'Gatte ki Sabzi', 'Kadhi' and 'Khichdi' represented Gujarat. It was ‘Kalakand’ for desserts. It was great to see India on  plate which also became a much relatable affair for the guests.

The names that the red-carpet saw was 10 Indian celebrities including AR Rahman, R, Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddique, Tamannaah Bhatia, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, Grammy award winner Rickey Kej, writer and CBFC cheif Praoson Joshi, folk singer Mame Khan, CBFC member Vani Tripathi to name a few on the red carpet as a part of the Indian delegation led by the Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur.

The menu was done by none other than Manu Chandra who took to Instagram and wrote “And this happened. Humbled by the opportunity that came up so soon into launching @singlethreadcaterers thanks to @godawansinglemalt and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

I’ve been quiet because pulling off a dinner for…. (To follow) on short notice in a different country isn’t easy. But 4 days of manic work, a wild goose chase for ingredients, and endless hours in the kitchen pulled it through. India shone, as did the spirit of the desert in all aspects of the evening.

This year India is the “country of honour” for Cannes 2022.

Manu Chandra has also grabbed a spot at India’s top 10 young chefs that was recently announced. He is known for these culinary creative efforts that is visible on the table.
