Prevents blood vascular disease

Broccoli, Cabbage and Brussels Sprouts are considered suitable for your overall health. Recently, a study found that these vegetables help prevent advanced blood vessels from reducing the risk of a heart attack. Advanced Blood Vascular Disease: This condition affects the blood vessels significantly and hinders blood circulation in the body. What does the research say?

The British Journal of Nutrition issued a study that found that women who consume vegetables such as broccoli, brussels sprouts, and cabbage daily are less likely to have advanced blood vascular disease than other women. The study was directed by the University of Western Australia and the ECU School of Medical and Health Sciences. This study found that women who incorporate these vegetables extensively in their diet are less likely to have a fatty, calcium buildup in internal blood vessels.

The study's lead researcher, Dr Lauren Brockenhurst, said, "In our previous studies, we identified people with an increased intake of these vegetables had a lower risk of getting heart disease, such as a heart attack. Our findings from this new research provide insight into potential mechanisms. We have found that older women who consume more crucified vegetables every day are less likely to have extensive calcification on their aorta. A unique ingredient found abundantly in these vegetables is Vitamin K, which may be involved in stopping the calcification process in our blood vessels."

Precautions while eating broccoli and cabbage

Vegetables like broccoli or cauliflower should be eaten carefully. This is because they contain insects of the same colour, not easily seen or identified. Therefore, before eating them, wash these vegetables thoroughly with lukewarm water. You can also soak the cabbage in vinegar water as it effectively kills some bacteria and mildew. You can also consume different veggies and fruits by cleansing them in the same way.
