A peek into its past
Taking you back to the past, those were roasted and powdered cacao seed kernels in centuries ago that were consumed on its own or as a flavouring for other cuisines. These compounds together were responsible for making gourmet chocolate and since then we can’t imagine our lives without this amazing taste and flavour. History says that most Mesoamerican people, including the Maya and Aztecs, also produced chocolate beverages. Being one of the most popular food types and flavours in the world, there are various dishes invented from chocolate, especially sweets like cakes, pudding, mousse, chocolate brownies, and chocolate chip cookies.
History also says that chocolate may be traced back more than 3,000 years to the Maya, Toltec, and Aztec cultures, who made a beverage from the cocoa bean's fruit. The Maya believed chocolate to be god's food that’s why they started worshipping the cacao tree. They even buried their dignitaries with bowls of chocolate.
Chocolate has a lot of carbs, which makes it a great source of fast energy. It also includes trace levels of substances such as theobromine and caffeine, which are stimulating alkaloids. To make sweet chocolate, In 1847, the English firm Fry and Sons initially blended cocoa butter, chocolate liquor, and sugar.
