Following the feathers in the cap of Indian cities making it to the ‘Best Food Cities in the World’ list of 2023, Taste Atlas released a list of 20 dishes for people to try in the new year. Amongst the globally curated list that features delicacies like carne asada tacos, tom kha gai and Phanaeng curry, India’s beloved flatbread – the butter garlic naan, features in 7th place, closely following the Burmese khao soi and the Chinese tangbao.

The Croatia-based food guide, over the last couple of years, has put Indian cuisine and restaurants on the global map of dishes and places that one must aspire to visit – thus giving a huge boost to its food culture. While the diversity of Indian food makes it an unsurprising entrant in the list of all the amazing food that is rooted in different cultures and traditions, the butter garlic naan – along with chicken tikka masala and biryani, have been enjoying their time in the spotlight for a hot minute.
