Our bodies immediately yearn for something hot to warm them when winter approaches. Flaxseed or alsi ladoos top the list of winter treats that are the ultimate feat for our eyes and taste sensations, which includes soups and hot beverages. Flaxseed ladoo, sometimes referred to as alsi pinni, is a traditional winter treat that is cooked throughout the winter and stored to be enjoyed throughout the season. It is not only delicious, but it is also nutritious because it is believed to prevent colds, coughs, and arthritis discomfort in addition to other body aches.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of Flaxseeds
- 1/2 cup of Whole wheat flour
- 3 tbsp of Edible gum
- 1/2 cup of Powdered Jaggery
- 1/2 tbsp of Cardomom powder
- 1/2 cup of Ghee
- 1/4 cup of Chopped Almonds
Method
- Whole wheat flour is added to ghee that has been heated in a kadai. The flour is heated over a medium flame before being transferred to a flat plate.
- The edible gum should be added to the kadai along with 2 tbsp of ghee. On a medium flame, roast the gum, then transfer it to a flat dish. Utilizing a rolling pin, reduce it to a powder and set it away.
- Once more, add 2 tbsp of ghee to the kadai. This time, add the flaxseeds and cook them for one minute. Roast almonds on the kadai after adding a tablespoon of ghee, then transfer to a flat dish.1/4 cup of water and powdered jaggery should be added to the pan. Let it boil after it dissolves until it reaches the consistency of one string. (Take a drop of the jaggery syrup and rub it between your thumb and index finger after it has been transformed into syrup. If it starts to take the shape of a string, it is prepared.)
- After removing the pan from the heat, thoroughly combine all the ingredients in it. Allow it to cool for a while.
- Make golf-sized balls once it has cooled, then decorate each one with chopped cashews.
- To use it all season long, keep it in an airtight container.
