7 Hacks To Roast Bhutta Without Burning It

Use Indirect Heat

Roasting bhutta over direct flames frequently results in certain pieces being undercooked and burned. If you're using a grill, position the corn away from the flames and on a cooler section of the grill. Using this technique guarantees cooking without burning the kernels. Alternatively, you can cover the corn with aluminium foil, which will allow it to roast and steam at the same time without burning.

Soak The Corn In Water

Soak the corn in water for 15 to twenty minutes before roasting. This keeps the kernels from drying out and scorching when roasting and helps to keep them wet. All you have to do is put the corn in a big bowl of water and let it soak. Because the moisture in the husk helps to steam the corn from the inside, this works especially well when roasting corn in its husk.

Turn Often

Turning the bhutta frequently is essential to get uniform roasting. Rotate the corn every few minutes whether you're using an oven, grill or open flame. This lessens the possibility of any side burning and guarantees that all sides receive equal heat.

Oil Or Butter

Before roasting, brush the corn with a thin layer of oil or butter to help keep it from burning. The oil or butter forms a protective layer around the kernels to keep them from burning. If you want to give the corn more flavour, you may also mix herbs and spices into the butter or oil.

Husks

The husk helps prevent the corn from burning by protecting the kernels from direct heat during roasting. To fold the husk back over the corn, peel back the husk without completely detaching it and discard the silk. The moisture in the husk keeps the maize moist and avoids burns while roasting.

Cast Iron Pan

A cast iron pan works well as a substitute for a grill or other open flame when roasting corn. Turning often, add the corn to the skillet and heat it over medium-high heat. Due to cast iron's good heat retention and distribution, the corn roasts more evenly and without burning.

Marinade

Mix oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and your preferred herbs and spices to make a marinade. Before and during roasting, generously brush the maize with the marinade. In addition to keeping the kernels from drying out and burning, the oil in the marinade aids in even cooking the corn.

Roasting bhutta is very easy with these smart hacks. These hacks ensure that your bhutta cooks evenly for your monsoon munchies. These hacks not only protect your bhutta from burning away but also help with fast cooking.
