Bread Upma

If you have no rava in your pantry but many bread slices are on the verge of getting ruined, put on your chef’s hat and prepare bread upma. Dip the slices in water and crumble them. Prepare a tempering of mustard seeds, curry leaves, chana dal, and red chillies: Saute onion, tomatoes, French beans, peas, and a few other vegetables of your choice. Add wet crumbled bread into the pan, toss it around, and the bread upma is ready to be served.

Bread Dahi Bhalla

Making bhalla at home is tricky. You have to prepare an airy mixture of urad dal and bhalla that must remain soft even after deep-frying. It is also time-consuming but if you want to serve dahi bhalla in a jiffy, soak bread in water, squeeze an extra amount, and sprinkle salt, red chilli powder, and cumin powder. Shape this combination into small balls and top them with curd and chutneys of your choice.

Bread Poha

Bread poha is also an excellent snack to pair with morning or evening tea. Saute onion in mustard seeds. Add chopped chillies and ginger to the pan. Once onions are translucent, add crumbled bread slices, sprinkle salt, and add a handful of fresh coriander leaves. Put on the lid and let the ingredients come together. In 5 minutes, bread poha will be ready.

Bread Aloo Tikki

Aloo tikki is a popular snack in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. The secret to a lips-smacking tikki lies in making it crispy by cooking aloo mixture on a low flame. However, if you are in a hurry, you can add crumbled bread to the aloo mixture for binding, and it will also add a crispy touch to the patties. Shallow fry the tikkis and top them with chana, chole, chutneys, and curd.

Bread Samosa

The base for samosa is prepared by kneading all-purpose flour with a sprinkle of salt and ajwain. If rolling the dough and shaping it to perfection is a task, you can purchase fresh sandwich bread, cut its edges, sprinkle water on it, and stuff it with the spicy aloo mixture for samosa. Deep-fry or bake bread samosa for a tantalising indulgence with adrak chai on the side.

Bread Pizza

When making pizza at home, it is quintessential to nail the base. It should flake when the dish is baked. But if you are an amateur cook, you can make pizzas out of bread slices. Slight toast the bread spread pizza sauce on it, sprinkle mozzarella cheese, and top each slice with your favourite vegetables or meat. Add some more cheese on the top and bake the slices in the oven or a hot tawa. This unique creation is perfect for serving children in a small gathering.
