Actor Bhumi Pednekar is a huge foodie who doesn’t shy away from sharing her love for all things yummy and indulgent with her fans and followers on social media. But the Bollywood star has also chosen the environment over delicious food time and again. During the lockdown, she turned a vegetarian, as she revealed in an Instagram post that eating animals just didn’t feel right anymore. Recently, the actor shared a picture of her desi meal platter on social media and explained why exactly she chooses to eat in a stainless-steel thali even today. Bhumi explained why it’s all about her diet as well as her concern for the environment. Read on to know more about it.

Bhumi shared a picture of a steel thali with its different sections filled with various foods. From white jeera rice topped with coriander leaves to a dry spicy curry on the side and dal makhani topped with some cream in another section, the thali was filled with desi goodness. There was also a raita garnished with coriander. Stating the benefits of using this kind of a plate for her meals, the actor wrote, “Sustainable, reusable, helps with portion control and is hassle-free. The great Indian thali.” She further revealed how she has been eating in this one for years and cannot do any other way of eating food. "Been eating in 1 for years. Can't do multiple katori, plates etc,” she said in her post. Take a look:

Isn't her post so apt? Guess we can all take inspiration from Bhumi and embrace the simple way of living life and eating food in a simple Thali like our ancestors actually did. Seems like she has a penchant for Indian food. She kickstarted the new year on a delicious note while on vacation with her close friends and family at a hill station. She devoured a yummy food platter with some rich and delicious chole along with fluffy kulcha bread. We could also spot a scrumptious tikki chaat topped with loads of curd, sev, and tangy and fiery chutneys. She took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the same.

Coming back to the great Indian thali, this isn’t the first time a celebrity has talked about the perils of eating in one. A couple of months back, actor-comedian Vir Das also took to social media to share how he “can't eat without this thaali”. His humorous take was all things relatable. Read more about it here

Similarly, Bhumi's thoughts on the Indian thali are interesting and relatable, as are the reasons behind it. Don't you agree? Let us know what you think about it.
