BARLEY UPMA

Ingredients:

  1. Capsicum - 1/2 finely chopped
  2. Groundnut - 1/2 cup roasted
  3. Onion - 1/2 quail chopped
  4. Mustard seeds - a pinch
  5. Coriander leaves - 2 tsp
  6. Barley porridge - 1 cup
  7. Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  8. Carrot - 1 chopped
  9. Urad dal - 1 tsp
  10. Salt - to taste

Method:

  1. Soak barley in water for a few hours and keep it aside
  2. After removing it from water, put it in the cooker and remove it from the stove after one to two whistles
  3. Fry the mustard seeds in heated oil in a pan. Add all the vegetables, salt, urad dal and groundnuts. Now, cook it for some time
  4. Add the boiled barley to it and cook for a while. Then add lemon juice coriander leaves and mix it well once
  5. Tasty upma is ready to serve.

BARLEY PARATHA

Ingredients:

  1. Capsicum - 1/ 2 grated
  2. Onion - 1/2 cup grated
  3. Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
  4. Barley flour - 1 cup
  5. Turmeric - 1/3 tsp
  6. Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  7. Salt - to taste
  8. Ghee - 2 tsp

Method:

  1. Roast cumin seeds for a minute
  2. Add salt and the roasted cumin seeds to the flour and mix it
  3. Add water with asafoetida the other ingredients and knead the dough well
  4. Put ghee in a pan and heat it. Now, roll the dough and make rotis
  5. Serve with vegetables or curd

BARLEY HALWA

Ingredients:

  1. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  2. Barley flour - 1 cup
  3. Dry fruits - 1/2 cup
  4. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  5. Milk - 3 cups
  6. Ghee - 2 tsp

Method:

  1. Put the milk in a vessel and boil it.
  2. Heat ghee in another dish and fry the barley flour for 4-5 minutes
  3. Add the boiled milk sugar to the roasted flour and cook it for some time
  4. After cooking for a while, add cardamom powder to it, stir it once, and turn off the stove
  5. Please take out the halwa on a plate and serve it garnished with dry fruits
