The food truck is named ‘Sweekar’ which translates to acceptance. While sharing a few images from the inauguration event on Instagram, the actor wrote in the caption, “”Jab hum ek dusre ko karenge ‘Sweekar’, tabhi toh hum kar payenge India ko aur behtar… (When we will accept each other only then can we make India better.”

The first image was him with Mx Dhananjay Chauhan, president of Saksham, a welfare association working for the betterment of the transgender community. The photo also featured other members of the community in the backdrop.

While speaking to the ANI, Ayushmann Khurrana said that the special reason to inaugurate this food truck was to encourage transgender community and promote their inclusion in society. He added that this small business will help many to become financially independent. He also said that people must come forward in support of the queer community and help them in any way they can.

In one of the videos that Ayushmann Khurrana shared on Instagram shows him enjoying momos that will be a part of the food truck’s menu. Other details of what would be sold are yet to be revealed.

Dhananjay Chauhan On Inauguration Of Sweekar

Dhananjay Chauhan, who is also the first transgender student at Punjab University, spoke to the ANI and said that he did not feel that the transgender community needed anything special from society. “We only need them to see us, hear us, and accept us. A lot of us are educated, hardworking, and just need work opportunities to prove our mettle.”

On the official Instagram handle of Saksham, an image of the actor with Dhananjay Chauhan was shared. The caption read, “Earning with dignity and respect, transgender can be perfect.”
