In light of the Tirupati Laddu controversy, Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, raised concerns about the purity of oil and ghee sold throughout the country, calling for an investigation. He emphasized that prasad offered to deities should be made under the supervision of temple priests.

"The controversy over the alleged use of fat and meat in Tirupati Balaji's prasad is escalating across the country. Both seers and devotees are expressing anger and demanding an investigation," he said.

His comments came amid discussions regarding the adulteration of animal fat in the ghee used for the laddu prasadam at the Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, Das has urged a complete ban on prasad made by "outside" agencies in major monasteries and temples.

“’The controversy over the use of fat and meat in the prasad of Tirupati Balaji is increasing across the country. Both saints and devotees are expressing anger over this and demanding an investigation,” he said.

Das appealed to all monasteries and temples nationwide, insisting that prasad offered to deities must be prepared under the supervision of temple priests. He emphasized the importance of verifying the purity of oil and ghee sold across the country and alleged that there is an international plot to tarnish the sanctity of monasteries and temples by contaminating prasad with meat and fat.
