During the ongoing holy month of Ramadan, we’ve seen plenty of actors and famous personalities digging into the most drool-worthy food for Iftar. Iftar is that meal of the day when the fast is broken after sunset. We’ve been following Sana Khan for quite some time now and she is in Saudi Arabia for her Umrah. Umrah, for the unversed, is a pilgrim trip that is undertaken by followers of Islam, usually during Ramadan. The former Indian actress and model is also on such an expedition in Mecca-Madinah. Sana Khan was giving us major goals when she posted a picture of herself drinking coffee from a gold-plated cup and saucer.

This time around, Sana Khan has been tempting us with her iftar spread. The model turned actress, who is no longer a part of the Bollywood industry, was seen relishing a delectable iftar feast in Mecca during her Umrah. We saw her drinking Arabic coffee from a tiny cup and it looked really cute. Then there was this lavish buffet which had potato wedges, sheermal, kebabs and plenty of other tasty things to eat. Don’t know what we are talking about? Here, take a look.

With this mouth-watering meal, we have some delicious recipes that you can also try for Iftar today.

1.  Keema Samosa

This is the perfect snack to serve at your iftar party. Ditch the aloo and vegetable samosas for this keema samosa recipe. Stuffed with a spicy minced meat mixture, the samosa is a conical pastry that is deep-fried in hot oil. With a crispy and thin outer layer and a meaty filling, the samosa is a filling and delicious starter to begin the feast. Serve with a side of a yoghurt dip.

2.  Molokhia

This is an authentic Arabic stew or soup that is usually served during iftar. The light and watery soup is prepared with molokhia bags, cloves, cumin, black pepper and tomato juice. Cilantro is added for a distinct freshness while chicken is dunked in for the protein. This is a healthy and filling preparation that is great for beginning a heavy meal.

3.  Haleem Ke Kebab

Haleem, for the unversed, is a rich porridge made from lentils and meat. These kebabs are a rendition of that. While haleem is often eaten for breakfast on eid, these kebabs are perfect for iftar. The cooked chana dal, mixed with mutton and spices, is flattened into round kebabs and tossed in a pan. They are so soft that they literally melt-in-your-mouth.

4.  Egg Pakoras

Crispy, batter-fried pakoras feature quite often in iftar menus. Hard boil the eggs and slice them into smaller pieces. Dip these into a mixture of gram flour, water, green chillies, coriander leaves, chilli powder and spices. Coat well and deep-fry in hot oil. Serve with mint chutney or tomato ketchup. These are nutritious and tasty and can be made in a jiffy.
