Flaxseeds are frequently used to treat constipation and enhance digestive health. Additionally, they include protein, fibre, and omega-3 fatty acids. So, it seems sensible to include them in a fruity smoothie. Although the texture of these delectable flaxseed smoothies is not as silky and smooth as other recipes, the numerous health advantages make up for it. Additionally, they will mix in perfectly if you grind them. Try this quick and simple flaxseed smoothie recipe if you want to combine the taste of a smoothie with the health advantages of flaxseeds. It is nourishing, satisfying, and perfect at any time of the day.
Ingredients:
•1 banana
•1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
•1 date pitted
•1 tablespoon almond butter
•½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
•1 serving protein powder (optional)
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract
•1 cup almond milk
Method:
•Blend the ingredients in a blender until smooth. In case the smoothie is too thick, add a little extra almond milk.
•Pour into a glass, then sip. If desired, add more ground cinnamon as a garnish.
Notes:
•The smoothie can be served over ice to make it extremely cool.
•Feel free to make this a green smoothie by including 1 cup of spinach.
•For added cooling, add frozen bananas to the smoothie. Omit the date and make sure your almond butter is unsweetened if you need to keep an eye on the natural sugar content (and the almond milk).
•You can use any other nut or seed butter in place of almond butter. You can use any plant milk in place of almond milk.
•While whole or ground flaxseed can be used in smoothies, ground flaxseed is preferable. There is no need to put my blender through further strain. Choose the one that works best for you because different forms of ground flaxseed are available from different brands.
