Air India, on Monday, introduced an upgraded inflight menu across cabins in all the international flights (ex-India) in an attempt to enhance the customer experience. The refreshed menu has been created on the basis of guest feedback and is designed in such a way so that it can offer travellers an assortment of gourmet meals, trendy appetizers, decadent desserts while showcasing India's locally sourced culinary influence and keeping in line with the healthy eating trend.  

The bar menu will now feature a wide range of premium spirit brands and thoughtfully put-together wines including the French and Italian collection. In a press release issued by Air India, Sandeep Verma, the Head of Inflight Services said that in order to transform the Air India experience for the guests, they have tried bringing a great thought with energy to the new and refreshed menus. ‘We want our guests to enjoy their food and beverage on board Air India flights much like they would at their favourite restaurants.”, he stated.

Verma added that their underlying focus while designing the new menus has been on ensuring the availability of nutritious options that are delicious, and on incorporating contemporary, sustainable practices. An enthusiastic team of in-house experts, catering partners, and multiple suppliers were assembled to design an elevated dining experience aboard Air India.  

It has been stated by Air India that the first and business class customers following vegan lifestyle, will be given an option to choose from a wide range of delicious, plant-based meal options such as Thai Red Curry with Tofu and Vegetables, Subz Seekh Kebab, Lemon Sevaiyan Upma, Broccoli and Millet Steak, Medu Wada and Masala Uttapam. Similarly, the new menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, across all classes, will be featuring a mix of fusion dishes and classics such as Turmeric Chilli Omelette, Mushroom Scrambled Egg in multigrain bread, Achari Paneer and Emmenthal Sandwich, Mixed Vegetable Paratha, Grilled Prawns in a Fennel Cream Sauce, Murgh Rezala Kofta, Murgh Elaichi Korma, Baked Fillet of Fish with a Herb Almond and Garlic Crust, Classic Chilli Chicken, Chicken Chettinad Kathi Roll, BMasala Dal and Brown Rice Khichdi with Sprouts, Classic Tomato and Coriander Shorba with Crisp Namakpara, Roast Tomato and Bocconcini Caprese with Kalamata Olives and Pesto and others. 

Besides, the Air India guests will also be able to revel in the decadence of desserts like as Mango Passionfruit Delight, Espresso Almond Crumble Mousse Cake, Quinoa Orange Kheer, Single Origin Chocolate Slice, Khajur Tukda with Kesar Phirni, Chum-Chum Sandwich with Blueberry Sauce, and a wide range of seasonal fruit selection.  

Talking about the bar menu, the Air India customers would get an opportunity to indulge in a sophistication with the flight’s bar menu, offering a fine wine list, including Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée Brut champagne, Les Oliviers, wines from the renowned vineyards of Château de l'Hestrange, Chateau Milon, and Piedmont region of Northern Italy. Moreover, the new beverages menu features a range of whiskeys, gin, vodka, and beers of premium brands. It was also stated in the Press statement that ranging from the sparkling effervescence of fruity blends to the aromatic zest of spices, Air India’s selection of mocktails such as California Orange, Apple Spritzer, Virgin Mary, and juices would offer an array of flavours to the customers while providing them a fine dining experience. And the customers who like to unwind with a hot beverage, a freshly brewed cup of coffee I.e. classic coffee blend and cappuccino or tea I.e. Assam, green, Earl Grey, and masala would also be offered.
