It all started with an apple. We’re not talking biblically here, just in terms of snacking. Apples have always been a go-to when people are craving something crunchy, juicy and delicious. Humans are sensory creatures and the crunchy factor is a big reason why we lean more towards certain foods over others. While we chew, we can hear the crunch from within our ear canal creating a more satisfying overall experience.
This method of frying up apples in an air fryer means an extra crispy finish with the coveted fried texture without any of the deep-frying hassles. The addition of sugar is optional but the cinnamon is a must-have as it creates the signature taste that makes every bite a little explosion of flavour.
Ingredients
- 1 large red delicious apple
- 1 Tbsp castor sugar
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Cooking spray

- Peel the apple if desired and then evenly slice it into ⅛ inch slices and remove any seeds.
