Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap and her fiancé Shane Gregoire may have gotten engaged in Bali in May, but the couple’s Mumbai-based friends and family didn’t miss out on the duo’s happiness—all thanks to a grand engagement party help in the city earlier this week. A starry affair attended by the young crowd of Mumbai’s film industry biggies like Kalki Koechlin, Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Palak Tiwari and Kubbra Sait, the party reflected the happy couple’s joy.

And given that Aaliyah Kashyap is known to be a foodie, the happiness and love all around was perfectly represented by beautiful, handcrafted, pink and floral-themed desserts. The cake Aaliyah Kashyap and Shane Gregoire cut to announce their engagement was pristine white, with a shiny icing and a vanilla filling inside. The cake was decked up with white roses (the real deal and not artificial ones) and baby breaths.

But the cake wasn’t the only dessert at the event. A large and stunning dessert table packed with goodies from L’Echo Bombay was the highlight of the engagement party. “Did this beautiful dessert table for the sweetest @aaliyahkashyap & @shanegregoire,” the Mumbai-based artisanal French patisserie posted on their Instagram, adding that the dessert cart was adorned by beautiful florals from another Mumbai-based group, Do It Up.

“We did diamond studded Banoffee Frosty Cupcakes, Kinder Joy Cheesecake Cups, Raspberry & White Chocolate Crunch Minis, Pistachio Macarons. It took us lots of planning and efforts to get this table done & we couldn’t be happier to be a part of this special day,” the team behind L’Echo revealed.

To say that Aaliyah Kashyap and Shane Gregoire loved the beautiful, handcrafted dessert spread is an understatement, as the couple’s joy was quite evident for those who attended. Given that the entire wedding had a floral theme, these floral desserts went really well with the theme. For those interested, L’Echo is a Chembur-based patisserie and the team behind this place has been trained at Le Cordon Bleu London. Going by their Instagram page, L’Echo specialises in customized cakes and desserts that are not only beautifully crafted but also look simple and decadent following a pastel tone.
