Quality Of The Flour

Be it any food, the base ingredient influences the flavour, texture and aroma of the dish. Similarly, atta or wheat flour is an important element to take care of while making rotis. It is always better to use fresh mill flour or Chakki Ka Atta if you are trying to make perfectly soft rotis. Even if you are using packaged flour, make sure to pass it through a sieve.

Kneading The Dough

When it comes to making soft rotis, kneading the dough plays an important role in giving the rotis the required texture. Knead the dough either with a food processor or by hand. Once you are done kneading the dough, make sure you let it rest for at least 15 minutes.

Rolling

While rolling the rotis, make sure you flatten the edges with your hands first. Once you are done flattening the edges, start rolling them with a pin to make round rotis. Ensure that the surface is dry and dust it properly before rolling the rotis.

Roasting

Last but not least, roasting the rotis can definitely change your roti game. Heat a tawa once you start rolling a roti and place it on the tawa. Once you start seeing bubbles, flip the roti to cook it on both sides. Get a dry cloth and press the edges till you get a perfectly puffed roti.

Once you are done making the rotis, store them in an airtight container to keep them soft till you eat them.
