  • Lemon And Salt Scrub

People often use lemon and salt scrub to get refreshed skin, but did you know, this scrub helps in removing Holi colours as well? Well, lemon has a natural bleaching property that helps in removing Holi colours. When combined with salt which acts as an exfoliant, it forms a powerful scrub. Massage the scrub gently onto the coloured areas of the skin, allowing the acidity of the lemon to break down the colours while the salt scrubs away the dead skin. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

  • Coconut Oil Message

The moisturising properties of coconut oil and its ability to break down stubborn colours, help remove the Holi colours. You can easily massage coconut oil onto your skin and hair after playing Holi. Message the oil on the areas filled with colour for at least 30 minutes so that the oil penetrates and dissolves the colours effectively. Following this use a gentle cleanser to wash away the oil and pigments, leaving the skin and hair well-nourished and colourfree.

  • Besan And Curd Pack

Besan has been a staple of Indian skincare for centuries and is readily available in almost every Indian kitchen. Known as gram flour in English, besan is known for its cleansing and exfoliating properties. When combined with curd it forms a nourishing pack that is capable of removing the Holi colours. The presence of lactic acid in curd breaks down the colour and soothes the skin. Apply the paste onto your skin and leave it for 15-20 minutes. After it dries, gently massage the skin in a circular motion that helps in removing the colours. Rinse off with water.

  • Rice Flour And Milk Pack

Another kitchen ingredient that is known for skin-brightening and exfoliating properties is rice flour. When blended with milk, it forms a gentle pack that is effective in removing holi colours. This smooth paste is applied onto your skin and allows it to dry completely. With dampened fingers gently massage your skin to loosen the colours. Rinse off with water for a radiant complexion, free of any colour traces.

  • Multani Mitti Mask

Also known as Fuller’s earth, multani mitti is a natural clay renowned for its oil-absorbing and purifying properties. You can create a paste by mixing Multai mitti with water or rose water and apply evenly onto the colour-filled areas of your skin and let it dry completely. As the mitti dries, it pulls out the impurities and absorbs excess colour, leaving the skin refreshed. Rinse off with water for a colourless and glowing complexion.

  • Baking Soda

It is a versatile ingredient that is kept on the shelves of the kitchen. It comes to numerous households uses, including holi colour removal. The abrasive properties in baking soda help in scrubbing away colour stains without causing any harm to the skin. Make a paste with baking soda and water and apply it to the coloured areas. Gently massage in circular motion to scrub off the colours and rinse with water. Baking soda helps remove colours from hard-to-reach areas like nails and between fingers. However, it is best to use this mix on a small patch first to make sure your skin isn’t too sensitive.
